Texture images are no longer linked in Inventor 2017

Hi,

I have a large assembly that opened fine in 2013, but now complains it can't find surface and bumpmap images even though the "Resolve Link" dialog box is pointing correctly to the 2017 images.

If I attempt to re-point, I get an error saying "location of the selected file is not in the search path of the active project file".

This appears to be a bug, but the latest update patch " did not fix it.

I'm attempting to upgrade from Inventor 2013 to 2017 using Win7 OS.

If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful. Thanks, Greg

Have you checked the pathing folder in the Application options under the "File" tab?

Hi! Please check the project setting and see where the Appearance and Material Library you are using. Are you using the default 2013 libraries? Or custome libraries? Or, the default 2017 libraries?

I'm using all default settings; no custom libraries and my Project Setting points to the default texture directory (C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2019\Textures)

Hi Greg,

I guess the issue is that the appearance style was trying to look for the texture file in old folder, which is not the same as the Texture folder set in the Application Options. Please edit the appearance and find the path it is looking for. If you place the texture file there, it should resolve automatically. If it still does not work, the appearance style might be corrupted.
