invisible raster view in pdf

Hi,

I'm releasing a drawing I made of an assembly but I have a problem.

There is an unwanted view of my assembly when I export my drawing to a PDF on the second page the lower right corner. The view is not visible in the DWG file of the drawing.

I do not know how it got there in the first place and also don't know how to remove it.

Can someone help me with this? In the attachments you can see the result of the export and an error I get whenever I want to export.

Hi! Raster views may not be exported to pdf. Try this. Right-click on the Raster View -> Make View Precise. If the green brackets still do not go away. Go to Tools -> Application Options -> Drawing -> uncheck "Enable Background Update."

Hi,

There is only one problem for me in your explanation:

There is no raster view in my drawing 😛 as you can see in my new attachment I've added the modelbrowser. I have only two views on my drawing but when I export I get one extra. The one in the red circle.

Hi All,

I have come across the same issue (see attached images)

I have exported a drawing to PDF and there is a hidden rasta image.

Any help would be good?

Its not the first time we've come across this in our office

Hi Matthew,

This is what Johnson sent me:

"Many thanks for sharing the files with me! This one looks like a corruption to me. For some reason, there is an ipn-based view on Sheet 2 but it is not shown in the browser and the graphics window. There is a way to recover it though.

Open the dwg file.
Save Copy As another dwg file.
In the original dwg file, delete Sheet2.
In the copied dwg file, copy Sheet2 and paste it back to the original one.

You will see the extra view appearing. Delete it and save. You should be all set. Export to PDF should work."

perhaps this works for you also.

I would first try a reboot of the computer.

If the problem still exists, can you print to the pdf instead of exporting?

Yep still has it in 2022.5.1

Copy and paste of the sheet within the same drawing document worked for me. The Raster view still was not visible but you could see it in the model browser.
So be sure to check your model browser well if you don't see the view itself appear on drawing.

If this happens in the future again, you could also run the following iLogic code:

Dim doc As DrawingDocument = ThisDoc.Document Dim oSheet As Sheet = doc.ActiveSheet Dim oView As DrawingView For Each oView In oSheet.DrawingViews If oView.IsRasterView()=True Then oView.Delete 'MessageBox.Show("View deleted", "My iLogic Dialog", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Hand, MessageBoxDefaultButton.Button1) End If Next

This will iterate through all the views and when it finds one that is in Raster state it will be deleted (even when you can't see it in the model browser).

Just make sure that all other views are in 'Precise' state.

Thanks for the code snippet, @alexanderboogaard. This was the solution I used to fix my problem of a mystery raster view displaying on the printed version.
