    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi! Indeed, like Sergio mentioned here, Inventor at the moment has very limited mesh modeling capability. The mesh in Inventor is mainly for referencing purpose. You can build new geometry based on mesh. But, there isn't much you can do with the mesh itself without adding more complexity.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What are you planning to do with mesh in Inventor. The rabbit seems to be a sample model from Mesh Mixer. Couldn't you manipulate the mesh in Mesh Mixer instead?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello All,&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I been thinking about using mesh mixer for designing complex curved or something similar and then importing it to Inventor.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Obtaining some kind of plane surfaces from the mesh and then hopefully converting that to wooden polygons that don't intersect to work out some kind of framing.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;has anyone done this?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;basically curved meshes to non intersecting planar polygons?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi, The mesh planarization issue has been much discussed for other programs, which work directly with the mesh. I think that the focus escapes Inventor's workflow by not properly editing a mesh.&lt;BR /&gt;You can find several script for Rhino, in its grasshopper module, many are interesting but I have not seen any work at 100%. You should always retouch the result a bit.&lt;BR /&gt;In general the mesh has many small polygons, and to perform the job you are looking for you should first obtain a mesh with a smaller number of polygons, however, the reduction of automatic mesh of different programs always usually gives unwanted results. The safest thing I've seen is to do a Retopology manually. The programs that have made me a retopology are easily Topogun, Blender, and Autodesk Maya. (Search in YouTube retopology for example)&lt;BR /&gt;If you want to plan quads, you should plan as mentioned at the beginning the quad polygons generated with scripts in various programs, which will not usually be an easy task.&lt;BR /&gt;Now, if you already own the mesh with a low number of polygons and with planar quads for example, you can import the mesh to inventor and with the "mesh enabler" app convert this mesh to surfaces, and from the generated surfaces You can do wonders in Inventor.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
