Go under the TOOLS header and click on the APPLICATION OPTIONS tile. In this tile, pick the header SKETCH, then go into the HUD settings (See picture). In here, you should have the options you are looking for. Let me know if it isn't what you wanted.

Anyone know how to use precise input? I would like to draw lines relative to the endpoint of lines.

AutoCAD used @5<0 to draw a line 5 units at 0 degrees from line endpoint not sure how to do this in inventor.

Thanks!!

It sounds like you want orthographic input, where lines can only be placed at certain lengths (5 in your case) at 0 degrees from the endpoint of your last line?

Nope I want to draw a line any distance and any angle relative the endpoint of a line. in autocad its done by typing in @Anonymous<90 that will give you a line 55units at 90 degrees relative to the end of the last line you have drawn. Or if you want one 10 inches at 45 degrees from a endpoint of the last line you have drawn you would enter @Anonymous<45. try it in autocad if you don't understand its a very precise way to draw.

My question is how do I do this in inventor?

Thanks,

Inventor do it differently and easier.

Draw the lines and dimension.

You don't need to draw the line exactly.

I used AutoCAD from R9.

Sometimes I want to do it precise while drawing. My problem is that Inventor decides to change behaviors all the time. I always had this feature and got used to have it. But every new version something gets flipped to the f**** wonderland.
