Are you sure?

How about recreate a new assembly and place one file in, replace with another file? I doubt that you have rename the browser node before in the original assembly.

It would be great to have the sample assembly with those two files and I can try to investigate a bit more.

Thanks!

Hi

I have replaced a component in an assy with similar component.

The component is replaced but it's name hasn't change in the model browser

But in the iproperties dialog box of replace component, General tab shows correct name ?

Please explain why it is happen, Im using inventor 2020.

Rgds

Hello @lkirit2000,

This is the case that those two files are exactly the same for properties as well as created/modified date. It is happen when you leverage windows Copy and Paste command and then rename the newly pasted file.

As you know, the file internal ID is the only reference file number for Unified file reference system, the ID remaining the same if you doing Copy/Paste via windows explore, this is the root cause for this problem.

To solve it, please open the original file and Save copy as another file with another file name, it is the way to create a new internal ID for the copied file, and then, the replace component operation will refresh browser node.

Hope it helps!

Hi, Added to the explanation of @Xun.Zhang , from the assembly could also rename the browser nodes. In your case as "Filename".
regards

Hi Xun,

Thanks a lot for your response.

I haven't copy and paste.

But I used Save Copy As and gave a new file name, as you mentioned.

Then is it a bug ?

Rgds
