Can you create a new project file (or more as required) that understands the changed directory path? Once you have that, does opening files with Inventor resolve the issue without manual intervention? If that is true, then you should be able to use Inventor Task Scheduler to update all the CAD files in the project file's scope as a batch process. See: https://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2019/ENU/?guid=GUID-9D665936-6837-4698-9B83-4CCD16FF8383

and:

https://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2019/ENU/?guid=GUID-FB5EA98D-E486-4DF2-AF16-C19A8A09AB69

Did you use unique file names for your Inventor files? If so, I think your problem is simpler than if you have the same file name in different directories.

- My organization uses Google Drive File Stream for a cloud server so all of my working files are under their folder structure that is built into window explorer with the Drive File Stream program. See the attached screen grab. Google, decided to unilaterally change the name of the root directory from "Team drives" to "Shared drives.

- This means the file path for all files under the folder structure have changed, and thus all of my links, textures, assemblies, etc etc, are broken. My organization has tens of thousands of these links.

- It is impossible to change the folder name back to the original "Team Drives" as this comes on high from Google. They so far don't have a work around and aren't planning one any time soon.
- We run Inventor 2018 but could update to 2020 if need be. We have the "Product Design & Manufacturing Collection" Autodesk subscription. We are all on PCs with MS windows 10 pro (build 10.0.17763 Build 17763).

What I am looking for is any work around ideas so we don't have to relink tens of thousands of links on each station.
Thanks,

Ben

Also, FYI, symbolic links do not work in the google drive file stream folder structure. so that solution is out.

Hi! Have you set up a Project file? Or you use Default? If you have set up a Project, file paths are all relative to \Workspace\. You can easily relocate from one folder to another.

Many thanks!
