Frame Generator cannot select work geometry

I'm trying to use Frame Generator to put the edge of a W-beam on a slanted surface and a fixed height up. The Knowledge Database plainly says point-to-point Member Placement can use Work Points and Alignment can use Work Planes and Axes, but I'm not able to select any work geometry (whether it's defined in the assembly or in the assembly's parts) for either function.

Hi! I believe the selection is limited to part geometry, not assembly geometry.

It very definitely is limited to work geometry in the part files.

I don't have 2019 installed anymore but I'd be happy to post a video in 2020 if that's helpful.

Works like a champ:

- place member end on workpoints.

- align using work features, model features or origins

Is it possible to get even a screengrab of what you're trying to do?

It's a hopper where the skim is a sheet metal multi-body.

I'm trying to place two beams with the corner edges on opposite sides of the skim while the tops are level and at a fixed elevation. After that, I need to put a piece of angle iron on each of the other two sides; the angles need to sit on top of the beam and have their opposite edges on the hopper's skim.

I decided to make a "part"--a 3D sketch derived from the main body--and inserted it into the assembly to derive into frame parts.
