Hi! The behavior should be explainable. Either the item has been ballooned elsewhere or there was a setting not set right. Or, there is a bug here. Please share the files here so forum experts can help take a look.

Many thanks!

Ballon Function Problems

Hi,

I am creating drawings for reducers I have modeled in Inventor 2020. In the attached images, i have used the balloon feature to label parts of the assembly. In the first image i am able to balloon the two square flanges. However i am unable to balloon the square flanges in the second image. The square flanges are the same but the drawings are for two different parts. Can someone explain why i am unable to balloon the square flanges in the second image? Thank you!

Keith

Hi, when placing balloons, item references are made with their corresponding partslist, which may be structured or only parts. I think the most likely thing is that in some sheet of your drawing file you have previously defined this partslist as structured or only parts for the assembly represented in the view with problems. Then when placing balloons on another sheet, it will show you the item number corresponding to this partslist, please check it and tell us your conclusions. regards

How can i check a previously defined parts list and change the selection?

Excuse me please if I do not express myself correctly (it's the language barrier).
First check if there is a PartsList on another sheet. If you find proof of eliminating it, eliminate all the balloons on all the sheets and then try to place the correct one in your eyes with problems.

If you do not have confidential information in your files try to make a pack and go and attach it here so that users of the forum can study it. I send you a warm greeting.
