Please find the attached files. What is wrong in I have done (see attached image). Experts please advice.

I did not open your part, but looking at the image you attached, it doesn't look like the surface completely encompasses the extrusion. Would that be a correct statement? If so, that might be your issue.

As Comrade @Cadmanto told you, the profile is not contained in the projection inside the surface to where you want to extrude. When you extrude, do it in a direction perpendicular to the profile. If you execute the command "look face" you will see that the projection of the sketch projects out of the profile, then if you would extrude to the surface, that end not contained would be projected as a surface towards infinity, that is why this error would occur.

Tip, extrude with a passing distance across the surface, or even a plane tangent to the surface on the other side. and then cut it with the surface

Notice the result of those features.
I hope this helps solve your problem. regards

Hi, sorry for the delay in answering, here I leave a video. Notice that you have not established the thickness of the metal sheet. By default it will take a different value than the one you placed with the "Thicken / offset" tool. In the video I will look for the parameter and place it in the thickness value. Now the program can recognize the sheet and make the cut.

I attached below another method to not perform many operations. It can be simplified even more, but to keep your work flow I used your sketches.
Notice that no surface body has been created. The sketches have been related between sketches, which makes the system somewhat safer than placing constraints between projected edges of the geometry of the surface.
I hope it is useful for you. regards

You may install as many versions of Inventor as you have licenses for. I routinely have four versions installed (all the ones I'm entitled to).
