flatting solid body 3D model

I am creating new post that maybe i wil be able to attach the file to this post.

I would like to learn

-how to flatten outter layer of solid body which I can then use as a template to make cutting from float sheet glass. Ideallly there would be no gaps and cut corners.

- when and how to change the diamensions of the body

ipt file atatched together with 4 screenshots of what I am trying to achieve

If you have an inventor 2020 and want to flatten all the faces, have you tried using the unwrap command?

Hi! Sergio is right. You are on 2020. Please use Unwrap command -> select some faces -> uncheck "Merge Result Body" option.

@johnsonshiue This is a continuation of a previous thread here, where the OP describes in more detail what he/she is trying to accomplish. The Unwrap tool is definitely not helpful for this purpose (cut glass).

Hi Sam,

I guess the OP will need to use multiple Unwrap operations. But, he may end up with scattered surface bodies. If it does not work, I am not sure there is a solution in Inventor at the moment.
