Hello!

I use Inventor pro 2020. When I past iPart in assembly, it has wrong material definition (typical instead of steel)

I tried to delete files from ipart's own folder and regenerate files, changed material in tables etc. If I open ipart in new window it has a right material. I think it is a problem with generated files, but I do not know how to solve it.

Hello @Anonymous,

I did not observe this behavior with my own data in my end, would you mind share the part/assembly file here or direct to me via xun.zhang@autodesk.com.

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,

As discussed in the email, it is caused by default sheetmetal rule setting which is set as "Generic". @Yijiang.Cai helped on this case as well. Thanks River!

Just post the interaction information here to close this topic.

Hope it helps!

Xun got the root reason here. I am looking into your dataset, and you use the sheet metal rule in your iPart, and the material in the sheet metal rule will be used to apply to the ipart member.
