Part properties in drawing views

I have figured out how to change the color of individual part in a drawing view of an assembly to highlight them.

is there a way to copy that in projected views ? right now I have to copy the same tedious steps in each view to keep the colors consistent.

No, at least not without some sort of custom programming.

This is one of the reasons why (many years ago) my company started using shaded views for most of our assembly and weldment drawings.

Hi! I am wondering if you could use Design View Representation in assembly and then create Shaded Drawing Views associative to DVR? Then you will get the the colors propagated to dependent views for free.

View reps would work but would be more work hiding the colors of every thing I am not trying to highlight.

1. Created two design view of representation. one is highlight part only; another is everything but highlighted part.

2. Created design view of position with highlighted part only.

2. on the drawing, create a view with DVR without shaded view. Adjust line's properties if needed.

3. Create overlap view associated with highlighted part with shaded view.
