EMBOSING OR CUTTING OF TEXT FROM DXF FILE TO INVENTOR MODEL

I have opened dxf file in inventor, and copied the text from the dxf file and pasted in the inventor model and tried to cut it on a plate but the text sketch was in open profile and not able to cut or embose it.

So edit the sketch and close the profile or go back to the DXF source and secure a closed profile. If the gaps in the sketch are very small, while in the sketch, right click on a sketch line and choose "Close Loop" from the context menu and then follow the prompts. If the gaps are large, it will not find them, but you can see these and repair yourself.

Thanks for the replay,gaps are there for every text and i am not able to find close loop command.

You did not supply your Inventor model containing the sketch so the forum users can not take a look. The Close Loop command is located here, you must be in the sketch, then right click. It does not matter if, as you put it "every text" has gaps, edit them one at a time. You could also just secure another DXF for create an Inventor part with a sketch with text, this is probably the best solution.

customer didnt gave any font,they want us to copy from dxf and do it in model.

So I guess you will have to go back to the customer or use a text font search to find the name of the font. Also it the customer gave you the DXF, he is responsible to give you a viable file. The internet is full of them where you plug in your text and it reads the font and tells you the name. Here is just one of them. Your text is not that many characters, spend a little time repairing it.

What is anyone suppose to do with this, if you want some help, post the DXF or the Inventor part you have imported it to, not a picture!

You can attach any type of file in the Attachments section which is found below this dialog box. Scroll down and attach the DXF when you compose your next message. It is located between Paste A Screencast URL and Subscription.

Zip the file and attach here (right click on file in Windows file explorer, select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder).

The DXF that you sent worked just fine but it contained only 4 letters! Below is the DXF opened in AutoCAD.

The DXF placed on a plate and extruded as a cut in Inventor.

The Inventor 2019 file is attached.

Sir, when copying from autocad to inventor,that text was creating splines and it was showing like open profile.not able to cut

As I said your DXF only included 4 letters, the rest of the DXF you showed in your original graphic was totally missing. There were not gaps in the 4 letters and it extruded perfectly. Why don't you supply the "original" file you received from your customer, without any of your modifications and see what others can do with it, including me.

The answer to your last question is "Both". I have used both methods depending on my needs.

I am going to start ignoring your request UNLESS you do as I ask and post the original file you received.
