Modeling a Railway Sleeper on Inventor

Hello!

I am modeling a Railway Sleeper with Autodesk Inventor Professional 2025.

I have finished the modeling process, but I am experiencing issues while rendering.

Could you please help me with improving my model?
I am trying to getter better visuals, I think I have some problems about adding materials and colors.

What I am trying to do is, I am trying to give concrete color to the surfaces, and steel color to the rebars.
I am trying to make the rebars to be visible.
But I think it is not possible when I render.

For example, in this picture I tried to remove the outlines but I couldn`t make it.

So if you have possible solutions to have better visuals.

I am open for any idea.

Hi! I think this can be done easily. The panels are all surface bodies. You may use Stitch command to stitch them into a surface body. The thicken the surface to a thin solid body. Assign a transparent appearance to the solid body. It should mimic the glass nicely.

Why do you use freeform surfaces?
Transparency and concrete are mutually exclusive (at least in Inventor). You can make renders with different materials - one with concrete and one with glass, as Johnson mentioned.
A good practice is to model elements that are symmetrical about the origin of the coordinate system. In such a scenario, it would be sufficient to make half of these surfaces and duplicate them in a circular pattern and then stitch them together.
To give different textures to individual solids, simply point to the solid in the folder in the browser and then select a color from the drop-down list on the quick access bar; or right-click the solid in the browser, select Properties and select the material.
