Inventor not able to open file Solid Edge.

we are on Inventor 2020.

It is not able to open some files SE (one of them attached if someone would like to try)

It can open other files downloaded from internet but not the files our customer sent.

Hmmm...

Seems the attachment is a stp file rather than SE original one and it can be opened successfully in my end.

Oh sorry,

that was a file that a friend converted for me.

See attached the SE file

Apparently they are created with the old SE 17. Anyway I thought Inventor might struggle to open file created with new versions not the opposite.

From what i can gather from the help files, the Solidedge translater became available in IV2018 and supports Solidedge V18 - V20, ST1 - ST10.
IV2020 also supports SolidEdge 2019.

So i guess V17 is just too old...
The translation report i got from your file stated that the version was not supported....
