Hi All

INV2018

I just received a big assembly as .step file. All the components are in the right position, but none of them is constrained and free to move. Can I ground the entire assembly in a single step and keep all the components intact? These positions are critical as I require them to model some sub-assemblies.

Thanks

Basil

Hole key "Shift" and select the top/end component, right mouse click to bring up the context menu and Grounded all.

Make sure everything is actually in its correct position.

I've witnessed numerous times where the user "eyeballed" the components and grounded them, but on closer look and rotation, they were not in the correct place.

I still see it today where a user will not take the time or effort to learn proper constraining and locate a part partially, then ground it. Then the next person goes to modify/update the assembly and BOOM, errors galore because the grounded components won't move/update as they are attempting.
