So, how do I access AutoCad in Inventor LT Suite?

So far I can start a new drawing and click on the XY plane to edit the 2D inventor drawing but cannot see how to use the Autocad features.

What is the advantage of having AutoCad LT and Inventor Integrated in the suite when Inventor LT already supports 2D drawings?

AutoCAD is massively different from Inventor drawings.

Inventor does drawings that only represent the solid.

AutoCAD can manipulate geometry and you can draw pretty much whatever you want with it.

No wonder I am having so much trouble. I was trying to follow along AutoCad/AutoCad LT book and the menus did not work out and functions were different.

I have a serial number I received with Inventor LT Suite but it is not working with the AutoCad in my start menu. I previously purchased just AutoCad then stopped that subscription and bought the suite. Maybe the install version in my Start menu is the previous version. Should the Inventor Suite license be able to activate both Inventor AND Autocad or should I have received a license for each?

If your previous version was standard AutoCAD it will not work, they are different.

LT doesn't support 3D modelling.

You should use the original LT install file, or go to account.autodesk.com and download it from there as long as your administrator has assigned the software to you.

AutoCAD and ACAD LT are 2 different packages. Yes majority of the core functions and menus are the same but AutoCAD has additional features that Acad LT doesn't use. In the end you can't use your Inventor LT suite license to activate (full blown) AutoCAD.

Make sure you're launch ACAD LT and not AutoCAD..

Thanks for the helps people. I now have access to Autocad LT and Inventor LT. And, Autocad lines up with my book now (the Inventor/Lt book should be here next week). I have a double whammy that I am new to Cad and the Software

How do I accept the solution in the forum?
