Powerpoint 3D model with textures

Hi,

Im a student aerospace engineering and i need to present an aircraft design.

To make it look more professional i want to have my 3D model in powerpoint with the textures. I can import the 3D model but the textures are not there.

I save the file as an STL file and incude the colors in the option menu. Since the model is quite complicated it would be a pain in the ass to import it into paint3D and paint it again.

Is there any way i can have the model with the textures in powerpoint?

I have included the powerpoint file to show you what i mean.

For some reason it does not allow me to upload the IAM file of the model itself..

Inventor textures are not retained when exported to neutral file formats..

Is there a way to color in the model and have basic colors showing in powerpoint?

Because why else have an option to export colors aswell?

@DaniHotters Seems direct import of STL or OBJ files into PowerPoint will give you colorless (gray) models..

It seems that other file formats may allow colors but those do not..

Seems this is a limitation of PowerPoint.. Nothing to be done in Inventor..

Other file formats may allow colors.. (3MF,etc...)

Post processing/conversion after Inventor to convert to those formats may be required.

Yea it does look like it is a limitation of powerpoint sadly as i did just check if the stl file actually saved the colors correct and it did. Thank you!

I just got a color obj from Inventor into PP, but I have to do a bit more experimenting before I post my findings.

Edit: Try applying the colors at the assembly level rather than the part level.

Edit2: Well, I have to get some other work done, but in my limited experiment I think this can be done, but I have not tracked down why I get color for some things and not others.

Thanks alot ! when i export it as an obj i also get the mtl file. Microsoft 3D builder opens it fine and can export it as a 3mf file. This works as i want it to and shows my model with textures in powerpoint!
