Assembly with functional extension springs

Hi!

I am wondering if there is a way to connect functioning extension springs in an assembly.

As part of a semester project we are taksed with drawing the classic architect task lamp in CAD, as you may be aware that involves 4 extention springs. I have been using the "design->spring->extension spring" tool to generate a spring for the purpose, however I can't seem to be able to "joint" og constrain it to fit.

Any help is greatly appreaciated!

There are at least three ways, first two are not real-time.

1. Adaptive (modeled within assembly, will update on changes of assembly constraint.

2. Animate Parameter in Inventor Studio (only works in animation).

3. Dynamic Simulation - Spring Joint (works real-time and in simulation, but ends are a bit of a fudge - don't zoom in).

Your instructor should be covering this topic.

I asked you to Attach your assembly here and you did not do so.

I can only help those who follow my instructions - this is an advanced topic that is difficult to cover if instructions are not explicitly followed.

Which function?

There is not a single "Easy Button" solution.

The solution requires quite a few steps and depends heavily on how "good" of a solution you want/need.

This should have been specified in the assignment instructions.

Sorry about that, I missed the attach part.

We have merely been assigned to make the drawing, how detailed we choose to do it is up to us. I merely wish to make a "niceness" solution to make it as well as I can.

the assembly should be attached here.

I realize there is no "easy" solution for this, however this is an opportuniti for me to learn a bit extra.
