Form param value use formula or allow custom values

Hello,

I am making a form for a round flange. Typically I just change the flange size by the ID. The Outside Diameter and Bolt Circle Diameter are formula driven. Recently we started to allow changes to the OD or BCD. I would like to keep the formula's as they're company standards, but allow the parameter to be changed for special circumstances. Do you know how I can do this?

Hi! This is an interesting request. I am not sure if it applies to your case. But, you could make the parameter with multi-values. Equations are accepted as a value. Then you can use it in a form to drive it.

Please share an example of what you exactly want to do. We have quite a few iLogic experts to help take a look and propose good solutions.

Sure. What I have so far is: I've created a round flange model whose size is adjusted by the ID. The BCD and OD used to be a company standard. So the standard was just formula driven (See the parameter screenshot below). When I created the form (See form below), those parameters can't be modified; I'm guessing because they're formula driven.

Most of our Parts are still standard, so I would like to keep the formula. However, I would like to make these parameters dynamic so I can also adjust the OD and BCD if I need to.

Hi! I could be wrong but I don't think you would be able to control that within the form. You will need a separate rule. The rule will have the logical statement to tell what value to use or stick with the formula.
