Hello eveyone.

I need the help to somebody to convert or explain how to open a RFA file, beacuse I can't do it.

I read on internet there's no way to open this kind of files directly to inventor, but I want to know if is there something online to do this.

I don't have Revit to try to open it and converted.

The model came from the vendor's web site, that's why I cannot ask them to convert it to me.

I'll appreciate the help.

My suggestion would be to post this in the Revit forum, then ask someone to convert it to an SAT format which can be opened up in Inventor.

Here's a STEP, after a SAT export from Revit.

Disadvantage of SAT is, that all components are getting their own file. That's the same situation after exporting this result out to STEP.

Building subassemblies or patterns is highly recommended.

Hi! As of Inventor 2020 and earlier releases, Inventor cannot import Revit rfa file. It can import .rvt file instead. We are actively working on a solution but it will not be on 2020 and earlier releases.

Many thanks!

Hello Walter,

I really appreciate your help with this, this will help me to define some dimensions on my design.

Thanks to all.

Hi Manuel,

One thing to note is that Inventor does support STEP import and expert. But, it only supports 203, 214, and 242 (as corrected by Walter) protocols (manufacturing related). It does not support other protocols. When you export STEP, you need to select one of these supported protocols.

Many thanks!

A small typo in Johnson's comment.

The third option is STEP 242, instead of 224.
