Emboss text doesnt reliably work

Im not sure what im changing but sometimes the emboss function works just fine. Other times I cant get it to work right and im not sure what im doing different, it feels like im doing the same thing each time with different results. Here are the steps im using.

-for a 3d model I make a 2d sketch like a rectangle for example.

-I then use the normal extrude function to make that rectangle maybe 1in thick.

-then I select sketch again and click the face of the 3d model

-i use the text function to add text, then finish the sketch

-i then try and click emboss to emboss the image and choose a depth that is less that the overall thickness .25 in for example on a 1in thick model.

Now sometimes it works great that the text is embossed great, other times no matter what i try all i can get is an error message that says "create emboss feature failed" on the drop down for the error it just adds "error occurred during update"

Attach file that returns error.

Usually it is an issue with particular font selected.

your right. I didn't realize that some font types wouldn't emboss. changed the font and it worked as normal, thanks.

I had a similar issue recently. Just by chance, I discovered that only certain fonts work. I have many fonts on my computer. Is there a way to know which will work?
