Cannot create presentation of iAssembly

I have an i Assembly with 15 assemblies within it. With any one of the assemblies active I receive the following message trying to create a presentation file for that assembly:

Does your assembly have any irregularities (signaled by the red cross) or something like that?

No, the red cross is greyed out. I have rebuilt all several times.

This is a major problem now. I receive the same error message when trying to create a drawing from the iAssembly.

Make sure all service packs and updates are installed. Maybe there is a bug. Below is a screen shot of a simple iassy in a presentation.

Hi Brad,
Thank you for responding to my post. I have what I need to get through the
day, but the issue isn't solved. I have another clue to what is happening
though.
If I generate files from the iAssy menu for an assembly version an assembly
file is created in a sub-folder. If I open a blank drawing file and insert
a base model of the iAssy, also selecting the child of the iAssy a drawing
view is created and I can insert BOM and get the job done.
Is it possible the project can't find the assy models in the subfolders?

I wonder if this goes back to the whole factory file into the presentation instead of the child.

I do get that message if I had just built an iassy. But if I start the presentation and "Insert" the model, then the dialog box appears prompting for the version of the iassy that I want to use. I you cannot just place in the factory, you have to choose a child. So the insert model activates the iassy to allow you to choose a version. Hope that makes sense lol.

You could just go to the respective folder for the output of your iassy children and choose the version there to use in the presentation file as well.

Yes, I tried that and it works. If I open a blank IPN file and insert I get the dialog and the model. Interesting.

Hi! iPart/iAssembly factory is like a library component generator. The main purpose is to create member files. The factory itself should not be consumed in an assembly or a presentation. Like Brad said, insert a member of an iAssembly to another assembly. Then use the new assembly to create the presentation.

Hi @Anonymous,

Johnson is right. If you want to make the presentation for either one of member files, it is good to insert that member file instead.

However, if you still want to make the presentastion with the factory file, then, try to switch to a target member and than delete the iAssembly table, the file is becoming a normal file, you can insert to presentation now.

Please make sure a backup copy of that iAssembly factory file is needed.
