iMates matching with wrong iMates.

I have a assembly that currently has 3 types of iMate composites being used. "JB", "HR", and "U". When I place these parts into a assembly and "place at all matching iMates", I get the wrong part added to the wrong iMates. "JB" matches with "JB", "U" and "HR". "U" matches with "U", "JB", "HR", etc. This is a pointless tool if I can't get iMates to only match with like composites. The unistrut and junction boxes are Content center parts. Please help.

For some reason, the logic behind iMates causes them to match with matching names first, but then continue to match with compatible iMate types even if the names don't match. You can see this if you step through placing them individually, rather than placing them all at once with "Place at all matching iMates".

You're not doing anything wrong to cause this - it's a long established problem with the way iMate matching works. You might consider casting a vote for the idea below, which has been asking (since 2013) to get this fixed.
