Inventor Studio - Image Scene not showing

Hi,

I have this issue where the scene image background is not shown. As you can see in the attached screenshot, I've enabled displaying the background image, but nothing can be seen. The lighting itself is working, as you can see from the green reflections on the part.

Any help you be much appreciated.

Hi! This does not look right to me. But, it is also possible the given lighting style is corrupted or it is not a supported lighting style. Do you mind sharing the Inventor (iam and ipt) files here?

Hi! Many thanks for sharing the files! I did take a look at the assembly in Studio. The Alp image does appear. Something could be wrong with the system lighting styles on your machine. I cannot explain it.

Try this and see if it helps. Activate the "Empty Lab" style. Purge "The Alp." Then bring "The Alp" back. Does it work better now?

Hi, many thanks for your answer. Sadly, the same issue happens with every lightning styles, not specifically with the Alps one. Maybe there is something corrupted with the Lightning Styles Function.

Hi! Does the scene image appear in the same lighting style correctly in assembly or part environment? Is the problem specific to Studio?

The background image doesn't appear either in part nor in assembly environment.

What do you mean by "specific to Studio"? Can a lighting style/background be used elsewhere? ,

I don't know if the is a connection, but I checked and I can change the background colour of the graphics area to a background image.

Sorry, but I don't really know what you are talking about. I installed Inventor 2020 in September of last year and have been keeping it up-to-date since.

Hi! It is an interesting clue. This means that somehow Inventor has trouble accessing those background images for IBL lighting styles. I will need to work with the project team to understand it better.

The image based lighting images are stored in the "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2020\Environments" folder. Would you please check one image based lighting style folder such as TheAlps and see whether anything is missing? You can compare with my attached capture.

Hi, I checked and nothing is missing. But some files are from 2013/2014 (see attached screenshot), I don't know if that makes a difference. Maybe you could send me an environments folder that I can import to test if it is due to my files.

Would it help if I reinstalled Inventor? If yes, is there a clean and sure method to do it? Because last time I had to reinstall Windows to get the installation to work.

Could you try to turn on software graphics from Application Options->Hardware?

If it still doesn't work, can you try to extract the Inventor Diagnostics from Hardware tab and share with me?
