HOW TO PUT ASSEMBLY PARTS WITH A SPECIFIC DIMENSION(S)

Hello,

Hope all is well. I have a question and I've been searching for answers online and I am hoping I can get answers from here.

Can you possibly put assembly parts with a specific distance? Please see screenshot attached and see what I mean.

Simply enter your desired distance in the assembly constraint.

Attach your assembly here if you can’t figure it out.

Hello JD,

Thanks for the quick reply. Attached is the assembly of the project I am working on. I am having trouble putting a specific distance from the edge of the leg to the bars (seat and back) as well as the distance between the legs. The parts are also moving every time I move the legs and I am not sure what are the reasons. The chair looks so easy to do but it is actually a great challenge! Please let me know the errors I have been doing on this project so I can correct it. I am sure there are plenty.

I would look at tweaking the model so that the rigid parts are sub assemblies.

Something like this screencast.

It makes placing the appropriate constraints simplier.

After that I would add the constraints necessary to control the position and motion of the assembly.
