Hi Paul,

I am just getting started in Inventor and am a recent Solidworks user. I was trying to figure out how to put together a frame and came across this handy tutorial, very slick! A couple things that I noticed while doing it though were that the tutorial ends the first task in a part file and then magically starts the second task in an assembly file. That sort of threw me for a loop just as the starting in a part file took me a bit to figure out. Otherwise, very well done, and thank you for the tutorial, saved me a ton of time!

New 2021 Frame Generator tutorials

Two new tutorials were just released for Frame Generator.

The Get Started with Frame Generator tutorial is an updated version of the 2017 tutorial that shows the newest functionality and uses the new property panels. The first task of creating the 2D and 3D skeleton sketch is brand new.

The Reuse frame members tutorial was inspired by a beta video that Dan Szymanski created. This tutorial shows you how to deal with positioning and end treatment issues.

The final task shows how to use internal and external end caps if you want to skip ahead 😀.

We'd love to hear from you at: guided.tutorials.feedback@autodesk.com

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks for the kind words. My apologies for not clearly explaining that we jumped from part land in task 1 to assembly land in task 2. Duly noted for any future edits.
