I have a simple assembly with master and two other positions. Switching between position in Assembly mode works fine, but when I go into inventor studio and try to create Pos Reps animation, it will not do anything. There is also no error messages.

I have Inventor 2020 and Excel 2016 64-bit.

Thanks in advance

Positional Representations can be used to animate an Inventor Assembly using the Inventor Studio. Inventor Studio is normally used for creating outside presentations for others in the company or customers. I will agree with @luisalfredovazquez1995 that for general design animations where you are checking for operation, clearances, interference and other engineering concerns, driving Assembly Constraints is probably a better tool. Take a look at my Screencast where I demonstrate a simple Inventor Studio Position Representation animation.

Your attached model is not any good. You must use Pack and Go routine in Inventor to export any assembly. The assembly file without the parts cannot be open correctly.

Edit: You can get to the Pack and Go routine easily by right clicking on your assembly in the Open dialog box.

Here's a somewhat different approach:

- Lid opens

- Handle on Inner Bin rotates up
- Inner Bin moves up

- Inner Bin moves forward

So far it works. But I didn't find a solution for a pouring out rotation. Inner bin should rotate about 120° down, and handle should do the same by about 60°.

In the end I removed the joint and used insert and angle constraints instead, which worked fine. The reason for trying to use joints in the first place was that in my program, it was presented as the more dynamic and versatile alternative of the two....
