Hi! I believe it is how it works in Inventor at the moment. The annotation highlighted seems to be some sort of notes. Are they individual notes? Please share the jt file with me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I can work with the project team to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Importing .jt files with PMI - Working as intended?

I'm wondering if anyone is able to shed some light on an issue we are having. One of our clients is testing the waters with PMI and model based definition. In the past we would receive .stp files with supplemental information. The new method is simply a .jt file. I am able to import this in to Inventor 2021, and the PMI does appear, however it is all a single entity which I can not interact with. I am able to open the .jt file with jt2go from Siemens and filter the data appropriately.

Is this a limitation of Inventor's translation of the .jt file? Tied to a version or compatibility issue with the .jt file? Is there a setting or some functionality I'm missing in Inventor?

Hi @yfortier ，

JT PMI export was made available in Parts in Autodesk Inventor 2020.2

The assembly-level PMI import/ export support was tracked by internal ticket INVGEN-34819, but has not been implemented. We'll let you know if there is any update. Sorry about the inconvenience.
