Thank you Johnson for reply, that explains it. At least this is a way to solve it. I've seen it a couple more times in the past but components were too complex to research what was at fault.

Appreciate your support

radu

Hello

Please see attached, there is an iam with two parts, very basic.

When I'm running interference, I get an error.

I'm trying to understand the concept of this error, why is happening?

I've seen it a few times in the past year in Inv 2019.

I'm in Inv 2020 right now.

Thank you for looking at it

radu

I downloaded your files and attempted to open the assembly, but it looks like you have some dwg files linked in your part files. Since you did not include those Inventor cannot find them and it crashes when I open your assembly.

Hi Radu,

This one looks like a Boolean bug to me. I believe the two parts have no interference. Here is my proof. If you do Interference Analysis as is, there will be an error (a bug). Try this. Open 5151-3001.ipt and edit “access notch” extrusion cut -> unselect the left most (the top profile) -> Ok -> Update. You will see the IA works fine. This shows that IA succeeds with more material (“access notch” partially uncut). It means IA will not report any interference with more cut.

Like I said, this is a geometry-specific bug. I cannot explain it. Nor do I anticipate a quick fix.

Many thanks!

Thank you Andrew for your response, Johnson was able to identify the error.

radu
