If you start a plant layout in Inventor, how do you place a groundfloor with a grid on it to position al future equipement? I know Inventor might not be the 1st choice when it comes to plant design, but it is the way we do.

Similar things in Inventor would be

1-Turn on the visibility of one of the origin planes and start constraining things to that.

2-Turn on the ground plane (and that has a grid too)... View tab..Appearance Section..Ground Plane flydown menu

3-Model up a part that would serve as your ground/grid

Turn on the groundplane: It seems that that groundplane is not at level 0?

@johan.degreef Normally it is.. You can adjust its height offset though in its settings.. Hit the flyout arrow to the right of the ground plane button to access this dialog and adjust the height offset as needed.. It should be on the same plane as your origin plane.. Your models placed components may not be at level 0..
