Can drawing BOM/Partslist show custom frame generator properties?

I made a custom profile for frame generator, that profile has several sizes that can be selected from the frame generator dialog box. My cutslist/BOM shows the length of each part which is great but dose not show the sizes of each frame part.

Is there a way to access the frame generator size info, which is also stored as a parameter, and add it to a column in my BOM?

I don't use frame generator, but it should be possible by exporting the parameters to custom iproperties and then adding that as a column in the parts list.

It has been a couple years since I have used FG, but in my last job, I used to give the members unique part numbers and descriptions that would show up in the BOM. One thing I did have to do was in the Parts List, it naturally wanted to lump all similar parts together, so I had to uncheck the group similar parts box.

Is this what you are talking about? Or something different. If different, then need more detail.

Cadmento- That is different, i have all of the parts separated and the lengths are correct. What i need is to access the information circled in red. There is a drop down menu where i select to size of the profile, i need that size to be in my BOM.

Practically any column in your frame member Content Center family, can be mapped to either an existing or custom iproperty on the generated part. These can then be added as columns in your BOM and/or Parts List. To create the mapping, edit the Family Table and right click on the column you want to add, select Column Properties. Then Map to Inventor Property. Select a property, or Custom and then give it a name. Hit ok, and save the family table changes. Once a part is generated from that table, the Custom iproperty will be created and populated with the value from the table. If you selected a standard iproperty, that will be populated. these can then be added to your parts list.

The family must be in a Read/Write library, so it won't work on Standard Content Families as these are read only. Also, this will not populate the values on any members already generated. On these you would have to manually create the iproperty and assign it the value. But then they can also be added to your parts list. Long answer... short answer is yes.... this can be done. 🙂

That's putting me on the right path for sure but im still not getting it. The "Size" column in red is the info that i need, i created and mapped a column but i still cant get it to show up in my BOM, even when i map it to a standard iproperty. When i look at the iproperty for the frame member it will be there but wont be in the BOM

I'm going to ask the obvious question. Did you create a new column in your parts list for the custom property?

Yes, i made a tried a new column in the family table and a new column in the BOM but cant get the family table info onto the BOM
