Hi,

Some time early I update my Inv. 2023.1 to 2023.4 and today do it for 2023.5 and find a very bad issue.
I don't see "Dimension Type" option at all to make Linear Diameter.

In the forum I find the same issue for ver. 2024

The Linear Diameter, Linear Symmetric, Linear Foreshortened, Dimension Type options are missing in Inventor 2024.1.1

What I need to do?

How to solve this issue?

Why with a new update need to destroy the previous worked otpions?

I am not able to check older versions, but on my version 2025.1.1 all options are available.

Most likely in new version is correct, but Invenor in one of the updates broke this function in 2023.4 and 2023.5 versions.

Is this happening on all dimensions, or is it just this one that is giving you trouble? Are you able to place a Linear dimension in other parts of the drawing?

The "Intersection" option showing in your image makes me wonder if these two lines actually are not parallel, but have a very small angular difference.

Sorry, it is not an option. I work in a group of engeneers and we don't want to update to 2024 version.
It will required to make a "migration" to all files.
Because the necessity to make "migration" we never do the updates.
"Don't tuch, yet it work!"
I replace my computer to new one, so install updated version of Inventor 2023.5 😞
On other computers installed Inv. 2023.4 and all work right.

Hi! This could be related to an App Option. Go to Tools -> App Options -> Drawing -> uncheck "Enable ordinate dimension geometry selection."

For information, on other computers, with ver 2023.4 this option is cheked and all work good.

Hi Alex,

I am sorry I still cannot reproduce the issue on 2023.5 on my machine. Maybe you want to try resetting Inventor by using Inventor Reset Utility. Or send the Inventor files (in zip) to me johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the behavior better.
