PROBLEMS WITH iPART - FILE NAME TOO LONG AND UPDATE IN DRAWING

Hello everyone,

I have a problem when generating the file of iPart and when placing the piece in the drawing.

When I want to generate the file, Inventor shows an error saying that the file name is too long, but in the iPart table it isn't, and I dont know how to change it.

Then, and maybe relacionated with the file name, I can't place the piece in the drawing because it says that I need to update the family of iPart, but everything is okay in the .ipt

SOLVED:

I just copied the file and changed the name, and now everything is okay.

I do not delete the publication in case it serves anyone.

Hi! The error you are seeing is due to the fact that there is no File Name column. You have to designate a column with unique values as a File Name column (right-click on the column header -> check File Name). Otherwise, Inventor will try to populate all the cell values as the file name. By default, Member column is the File Name column.
