Guess this should be possible, lighting environments are controlled by the styles so...

You'd have to get everyone to use a style library located in a central location so you can edit it, which could be done through the project file. (you could even enforce it if using vault)

You can edit the style library with the style library manager, where you can remove all the lighting styles you don't want:

(the location path in my screenshot is not the default!)

After that, you'd have to update your templates so only those styles are available.

There's probably more steps and details, but this should get you started...

Hope it helps.

Morning All,

We have a bit of an issue in our office that everyone seems to use a different custom lighting environment for each drawing and when you have multiple designers working on the same project it means the drawing packs look very up and down in terms of how things are presented. In an ideal world what I am looking to do is to create a single lighting environment that is the default in all newly created drawings across the office. If it needs to be changed I would like to be able to change a single file and have it propagate down to the other machines. I don't know if this is currently possible but any help or advice would be appreciated even if it means a few work arounds. We all use Inventor Professional 2021

Thanks in advance

James

@-niels- This is a great starting point. Our design manager has the styles library Read Only at the moment but having figured out how to export an environment I cant see it being too much of a jump to get the one I have created saved into the library if he changes the access temporarily.

When he reappears I will have a bit of a experiment and report back with success or failure updates.

As always thanks for the advice

@jamesVM3XN Yes, if you have write access to the style library then it's as easy as hitting "save" on the styles and standards section (manage tab) in Inventor.

(grayed out in screenshot as it's controlled read only access through vault project in my case)

Just make sure it's in a single location, so everyone has access to it after adding it.

And again, also make sure to update any templates you want to use that style.
