Is it possible to purge multiple sheet metal rules at once? eg hold shift to select a range.

So I've a bunch of files I'd like to clean up which have dozens of unused sheet metal rules.

I can't seem to find a way to select multiple rules at once to purge which is making this a very long process.

The same for the unfold rules too.

Can you not use the Inventor Styles Library Manager from the start menu? Then Right click and delete?

Hi,

I've since found it is possible to select a range using the shift key, Although it has crashed the program a couple of times.

You can't select a range from the left hand side.

You need to go into the sheet metal rules of the loaded part & actually highlight "sheet metal rule".

This then populates the right hand side screen where it's possible to select more than one to delete.

You can run this macro to do it all with a single click - place it in your application project and save it to your template files.

Call me old fashioned but I like to do things the manual way.

Letting scripts/macros loose usually always end up as a disaster for me.

Could you possibly show me an example on how I actually execute this script.

On the tools tab choose the VBA Editor

click on Application Project->Module, paste the code and save.

Close the vba editor, go to tools->Macros, select Application project from the dropdown and run the macro.

Thank you for taking the time to create a short clip Gerald.

The task failed initially due to vba not being installed with 2021.

It then failed to execute correctly after installation.

No doubt I'm doing something wrong but it makes no difference,

I've found an easy to use solution that takes no time at all.

Just cleansing an old companies now defunct specific press brake tooling k factors to a generic rule.

Doesn't the Purge Styles tool (Manage tab > Styles and Standards panel) do exactly what you want? It presents a list of all the unused styles in the open document, and has a Yes to All button to make it very quick. I haven't located any files with extraneous styles to show you an example, but it's pretty self-explanatory.
