Hi Andrew,

Yes, you are right. The forum discussion should not always be questions and answers. The thing is that the metrics tracking the performance considers number of solutions. So, we try to "close" open threads as much as we can. Or, they may look as if there are many unanswered threads.

Many thanks!

I made a video about using sketch symbols in drawings and adding them to a repository for sharing with your team.

Many thanks for recording the video and sharing it! Please reply and I will mark it as a solution.

Thanks Johnson.

I have a question about the 'Mark as Solution' aspect.

It seems like forums shouldn't necessarily mean questions, but here it's almost treated like a requirement.

Why is that?

Is there a way to make these symbols stretch? I know you can do a proportional scale, but how cout stretching one end only. Im trying to simulate an AutoCad dynamic block, in which i can use the same sketch over and over but at different lengths.

@roloNCC wrote:

No, that isn't possible, unfortunately. Inventor has no equivalent to AutoCAD's Dynamic Block.

If the symbol gets used over and over in different drawings, but only once per drawing, then you can just edit the symbol definition in each drawing. It won't affect any other drawings that use that symbol, because the definitions are independent. It's not as convenient as a true dynamic block, but it could work in that context.

However, if the symbol needs to be different lengths within the same drawing, then there is not really a good way of dealing with that in Inventor.
