Hi! The style conflict warning comes up when the styles saved in the template are different than the same named styles in the library. To bypass the prompt, you can either ignore it (but the library styles will be pushed to the new file). Or, you need to save the change back to the Library. Or, you simply build a custom standard with custom styles stored only in the template files. When such styles don't exist in the library, the prompt will not come up.

If you have a case that the prompt keeps coming up on a new file, when the styles have already been saved to the library, please let us know. It will be a bug.

Many thanks!

Constant Style Library Updates?

Hey everyone:

Every time I start a new document in Inventor, I get a notification about differences between the style settings in the template and in the library. I think that I have an understanding of how the system works to maintain similarities across templates and setting read/write on the libraries through the active project.

So first I opened all of my templates and one by one used the "save" button on the manage tab to push the template style settings into the master library, thinking this would solve my problem.

Then I found that I still got some notifications every time I started a new document. Then it occurred to me, that I was probably over-writing what was in the style library every time I did this with a new template, so I was probably chasing my tail.

Thinking I was much smarter now, I chose one assembly template, one drawing template, and one part template and used the save button to push the styles from those templates into the style library. After doing that, with all of the cousin templates, I then used the "update" button to pull the styles down from the library into each template, then saved the template.

This had to do it, right? Now everyone has the same settings. Wrong. I changed my project and started a new document and still got the notifications. And FYI, I have no project-specific style libraries or templates. All projects are pulling from the same buckets.

Suggestions? Thanks!

Like I said, I *think* I have an understanding of how the process is supposed to work, but no matter what I tried, I kept getting the notifications. After I made my post yesterday, I kept searching and started to dig into the specific styles that are at issue and they didn't make sense. When I would start a new assembly, I would get a message about certain styles under Object Defaults, which, to my understanding, do not exist within that file type. Or at least, when I went into the styles editor, they aren't visible to me.

Eventually, I came across this article:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Style-Conflict-message-appears-only-in-specific-language-versions.html

So I went into the Styles Library Manager application and removed the ones that looked to be at issue and that seemed to take care of it. Seems like this was some kind of bug and/or corruption.

If you have multiple drawing templates and the styles are re-used amongst them, Save one, then just update the others, does that fix your issue?
