Shortcuts fucntion

Hi,

I use the shortcuts for most of the commands in inventor. However, today pressing only E does not take me straight to the extrude box anymore. It wants to cycle through to EH (Export Harness Data). I have to choose which command I want and then press enter. I don't even know why it's giving me the option for EH as I don't think you can use harness in a part file? I've got the same issue for some other shortcuts too.

Does anyone know how I can get it back to how it was just yesterday? It's really bugging me!

I'm assuming the EH is a custom shortcut, as I had to add it to test this out. I'm not able to reproduce this in part environment, either in an open standalone part or an activated part in an assembly. What version of Inventor are you seeing this in?

Hi Chris,

No, EH is not a custom shortcut. I have created a couple of custom shortcuts, but I wouldn't create one that competes with the most common ones I use like Extrude, revolve etc.

That is so weird. I've tried activating Cable and Harness,... to see if that added the shortcut by default somehow, and I still cannot reproduce. Nice video BTW.

Tagging in @johnsonshiue , anything you can think of sir?

Hi,

Yeah, it's strange as it was working fine yesterday and was even working as normal for a bit this morning too. I have tried restarting inventor, but the same thing happens. Maybe resetting my pc will fix this.

Hi Chris and David,

I am not aware of a systematic failure like this. Make sure all critical Windows updates are installed. Reboot the system. If it still behaves like that, you may want to use Inventor Reset Utility. Are you running any other Add-Ins?

Is it possible that "Use default multi-character Command Aliases" got checked by mistake? In the Customize dialog box, look near the bottom of the Keyboard tab as shown below.

Hi, yeah I did find a similar post where this was the solution. I tried with it both checked and unchecked but had the same results.

I'm hoping that having reset the PC will have fixed the issue. Will be able to update next week.

So after coming back to the same PC in a new week (the PC had been switched off over the weekend) everything seems back to normal and the shortcuts are working as expected again.

Strange, but would seem a PC reset did the trick!
