Thanks for your reply. What you see is the reflection on the ground plane, not a shadow. Look at the difference in the cabin top. In the Inventor Studio picture, you can see the shadow of the mast and the other is a dark gray surface. In my opinion the ground plane is the same in both pictures.

For a few years, I use the Inventor Studio for rendering (high resolution) pictures. I normally make a rendering in the View, Visual Style and Realistic. There I choose the lights, shadows and reflections. Then I save the file and at the end, if I'm satisfied I go to the Inventor Studio in the tab Enviroment. If you choose to render, you can use the light and camera, which you had choosen in the View Tab. It always worked fine, but if I do it now, the shadows disappears and I can't find why. So if I choose 'Render Image' the shadows disappears and they don't come back in the rendering.

Does anyone recognize this?

Inventor StudioRealistic style / View

Sorry that this probably isn't going to be much help, but i see shadow in both images...
Not in the same location, which would probably mean the lighting environment isn't the same but it's hard to tell what's going on, maybe the ground plane is in a different location?

Other then that, awesome model!
This kind of rendering would be perfect to show off in the Friday pictures!

To me it looks like the studio render has shadow near the bottom of the sword(?), while the raytrace has a weird cluster of shadow near the rudder(?).

The weird cluster of shadow especially seems to suggest a different groundplane, but i can't say for sure from just the screenshot.

One thing to keep in mind is that raytrace on the "low" setting will create those kind of "hard" shadows, if you set it to "draft" or "high" you will get a very different result.

Studio will apply those softer shadows from the start.

Thanks for your reply. I will post the finished Inventor Studio rendering at the end of the day. The rendering will have the same lights as the rendering in the 'View'-tab. I will have a look at the ground plane as you said.
