Hello, I am attempting to self learn surface modeling in Inventor. I have created a series of surfaces and in a way that is likely considered not to be good modeling practices. I am trying to convert these surfaces to a solid shape. I have found some info that suggests the sculp tool can be used even if all of the surface edges do not neatly align. (Please advise if I am understanding this incorrectly) I have attempted to do so. The tool locates all my surfaces and gives me this error when trying to convert. If anyone can shed some light on this or point me to some useful information, that would be greatly appreciated. I will attach the file for reference, but please remember that this is my first attempt.

Create Sculpt feature failed.
mustang drag 5 in rear.ipt: Errors occurred during update
Sculpt1: Could not build this Sculpt
The attempted Sculpt operation did not produce a meaningful result body. Try with different inputs.

I will work on making it water tight before I try again. Which surfaces are yiu refering to as poorly made? What makes them poorly made?

Ok, I have gone through and attempted to clean things up. I removed a lot of my trims, made new extension, removed a really nasty shape in the hood. I did the best visual inspection I could, but I still the the same error. I am guessing that I still have some open areas. Is there a good way to try and find this open places?

Ok, I was able to find some time to try and resolve some this, I was able to stich a lot of surfaces together.

These surfaces seam to have successfully stitched, but I am confused by this max gap number. Dose this mean it is not water if those numbers are present. I can not for the life of me see the gap when rt click "FIND IN WIDOW".

Also, I get a create stitch failed error when trying to stitch any of the 3 remaining surfaces.

As always, any input is greatly appreciated

I don't have the model in front of me to check right now,

But the rear deck lid was rubbish, I recreated that.

The driver side had an issue at lower back end. I ended up using Mirror of the passenger side.

As noted earlier - either the driver side or passenger side window had issue at back corner. (Actually both of them did.)

I mirrored the better of the two and used it. Because of the issues - I could not combine into one solid body.

I have worked at it some more with no new result. I will attach my latest file. I am eagerly waiting for someone to point at what I have done wrong so I can convert this to a solid.

I think I found my issue. I started from scratch using some different methods to create my patches. I was able to create the solid. Thank you every one.
