I don't think there is a way to do exactly what you're talking about. Can you provide a screenshot of what you're trying to accomplish? It could help to clarify your question.

Our company used to use AutoCAD Mechanical to do our drawings. We use Inventor now. In mechanical the break command would break a dimension line that crossed over other lines. Is there a command or some other way to do the same thing in the drawings in Inventor?

Hi

You can change it in the dimensions styles.

Change the display to use a break symbol. (I found I had to manually drag the symbol to the correct location on the dimension line)

Adjust the "C" gap to suit the height of the dimension text.

The 3'-5 7/8" Dimension is the example I'm using. In Mechanical, I could use the "Break" command and click on the line that the dimension is overlapping and it would take out the part of the dimension line that is overlapping the line of the item leaving a gap showing that its in line with a point on the other side of object as shown in the second picture. Is there a way to get that done in Inventor? I hope that helps explain my issue.

I see what you're going for now. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to do this in Inventor. The extension lines of a dimension will "break" when they are going through text or a sketched symbol but not object lines.

Yeah, there are quite a few things that I miss from Mechanical but Inventor is much more accurate. Thank you for your assistance.
