Inventor 2021 - view cube & frame generator questions

Hi guys,

Haven't worked in inventor for a while..and I'd be glad to receive some support from you regarding :

1. View-cube ~ default orientation : I like to have the front "vertical" and the top "horizontal".

Right now it's very weird with my part placement and will reflect all even in the..final drawing.

2. I'm checking merge for my profile in order to have a good result but in the drawing I'd like to measure some angles (not in this example) on the end of the cut - profile.

Everything is belongs to these 2 separation lines?

3. How can I easily align my frame(sketch) center.. to the center-point?

Thanks for posting your questions here!

I can give you a tip for the 1st one, that is operate View Cube to the orientation which you expect to be Front, then RMB from View Cube and select Set Cut View as Front setting.

actually reached this step & I cannot explain why my settings won't apply as in the window for the front XZ(+Y).

For the other 2 questions in my topic I've found the solution.

@Secttor I wouldn't merge the frames as they will be one part. I do that only where I have a rolled/bent profile like a handrail. Guess you found out how to move the sketch to origin.

With the view cube I just rotate so that Z is up and set current view as top. Ideally you want to set that in your template and save it. Then you never have to think about it again.

The question seems to come up every week on the forum so it can't be that intuitive...

@gcoombridge- thanks for suggestion.. works indeed. Such features (view cube options) can be implemented in a much-more intuitive mode indeed - at least these were my personal expectations as a Revit user.

Regarding the frame.. you suggest using miter with a very low value? my example is a bit exagerated in terms of value but..

I generally mitre with a zero gap value. If fabricators require a weld gap they can cut it a few millimetres short..
