I have looked all around on how to do this and cannot find a solution. using Autocad Architecture 2022 to model the stairs and saving as a 3D DWG file, then trying to import into Inventor. the common ways of open>import do not produce a usable .ipt or .iam file (everything is blank, no actual object in the file) that can be used.

My thinking on this was initially because i hate to freehand stairs, that i could build the 3D model of the stairs with steps and stringers, possibly even handrail, and then bring that into Inventor and use it, whether it was as a part or a reference for a frame sketch/skeleton, to create a stair assembly in frame generator. typically we will use a standard ANSI channel or formed channel to create the stringers and then make a template for step placement which is laser cut to ensure accurate spacing. i do have this nifty little app i have been using on my phone to generate a stringer and step spacing since we were stuck on 2016, but now that we finally upgraded to 2022, the ACAD Arch. has the stair builder included. Instead of wasting time trying to use the app and inventor to hopefully get the layout correct, i was hoping this would be a quicker and more accurate option. i do not have any example files other than my acad staircase i have been messing with. i would appreciate any help on this process or any ideas on how to make this a smoother process so i can be a bit more efficient when im working. ... oh and hoping to improve accuracy as well. cuz, yanno, .... i hate stairs.

i tried that method, the problem is that the stair generator in Architecture does not produce a solid.
