No, because in order to do that, it needs to be an iPart first.

UPDATE: If I create a new part and click iPart right away, the error still happens. Disregard anything related to tube/pipe that I've said. The issue appears to be strictly with iParts.

I'm attempting to convert a simple pipe to an iPart for authoring in the Content Center. Inventor will not let me create an iPart and shows the message below.

Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

OS: Windows 10

Inventor 2022

Can you please provide further information? It looks like the ipart has been created but has only 1 member. What steps did you carry out to get this error message?

If a file corruption has occurred simply copy the extrusion to a new file could identify this.

New > part.

New sketch.

Sketched the OD and ID of my pipe.

Extrude pipe to 100mm (renamed parameter to PL for part length).

Parameters SN (schedule number) and ND (nominal diameter) created.

Click Create iPart, then OK.

Another user reported this and stated that a reinstall of Windows and Inventor solved this for them.

Personally I think that might be a bit of a nuclear approach..

I would first start by running the "Inventor Reset Utility" located on your computer already.

Then I would ensure I can create threaded holes in a regular part.

Then I would likely do a full uninstall using the Autodesk uninstaller tool and then reinstall Inventor.

I've used the Inventor reset utility with no success. Unfortunately, a clean install of Windows is not an option for me because this is a work computer and managed by a 3rd party IT company. I do have admin access, I will try a re-install of Inventor and report back.

note: I was using 2021 and had no issues creating an iPart.

Hi! Do you have 64-bit Excel.exe installed on your machine? You need it in order to author, edit, and place iPart/iAssembly.

Many thanks!
