I can suppress the part in the model state №1 and at the same time it will be displayed in the model state №2. In this area model statec is good for me.
But in BOM i see all parts: active and suppressed (i know that suppressed parts counts as 0). So in drawing of model state №1 part list show all parts and I must to set invisibility by my hands.
This way is to heavy for assemblies of 100 parts and maybe I am on wrong way. So I'm wondering if there is another way to control the display of parts in the BOM and parts list.

I don`t understand how to exclude suppressed parts from BOM in model states №1 and left them in BOM in model state №2.

Press the "Pencil" icon next to the model states folder or select it from the dropdown in the drop down of the author section on the manage tab.

Hi! Are the suppressed components showing as zero quantity in BOM and PartsList? If yes, it is indeed the behavior in 2022.

If you are seeing suppressed components showing non-zero quantity, either the assembly has migrated LOD (Master BOM) or there is a bug.

Many thanks!

Yes, suppressed components are showing as zero quantity in BOM and PartList. If this is normal in 2022 is there a possibility to to remove the suppressed parts from the specification?

Hi Johnson

One more question regarding this subject.... If a component in an assembly has a "Simplified" model state and assembly has a Simplified model state, they can be linked. (that works fine)

For the part, I have a different description for the model state Simplified than the Master.

When I show the Parts List in the drawing for the assembly in the Master or Simplified, that part with model states only shows description for the master state even if I have a Simplified view of the assembly.

In the link bellow,

knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2022/ENU/Inventor-WhatsNew/files/GUID-AF380945-50B6-48B3-9D3A-578B85FFA260-htm.html

it says this:

Drawings

You can select a model state when creating a drawing view.

Hi Johnson,

Thank you for you rreply.

I’m in vacation now; you can just create a new iam, with a new part with two model states; add the part to iam, link together the model states and check in a drawing when you switch a view from master to a state; I tested description si company as iproperties. The Parts List doesn’t update when view changes to a model state.

Cheers

radu

I just tried the workflow and it seems to work for me. The partslist will update based on the Model State selected in the view. After you change the Model State, you will get prompted if you want to update the partslist. Choose one of the two Yes'.

If it still does not work, please share the example after you come back from vacation. I would like to understand it better.

Hi! I think the Model States in the assembly are migrated LODs, right? If yes, the Model State BOM is delegated to the Primary Model State. This behavior is to ensure there would be no change to the migrated legacy drawing. If you want to leverage the new Model States BOM behaviors in such drawing, the migrated LOD will need to be deleted and recreated. Here is the procedure to do that

Copy the Model State to Design View -> delete the Model State -> copy the Design View to Model State.
