Include model sketches from multibody part file

Hi all,

We are currently detailing some handrails that were created in a multibody part file and the assemblies they are now apart of were created via the 'make components command. Using this workflow doesn't seem to allow me to include the model sketches in the .idw and .dwg drawing views.

Is there a way to include the model sketches when parts are created this way?

I just tried and it worked for me.

Did you Derive the sketches?

What version are you on?

Dunno if it's a bug in 2020 but I had a colleague that couldn't get the sketch to derive. Once the extrusion of that sketch was deleted it was then possible to derive the sketch. Maybe try sharing the sketch before deriving?

You may need to make those sketches visible in order to see them in the Edit Derive dialog. I haven't figured out why that is sometimes necessary, and other times not.
