Bolted Connection Thread units

Hi
I'm trying to use "Bolted Connection Component Generator", but for some reason if I change the thread from

"ISO Metric profile" to one of our standard the units it change from "mm" to "in".

How this can be fixt?

Are you changing the thread to a custom diameter, or a custom thread profile?

I recently saw something similar, with a pipe fitting. The part model was created using Imperial units, but the size parameter was manually set to Metric (mm). Inventor ignored the parameter setting when the part was authored and published, and used inches instead of mm. Check your original part model units, to see if it was modelled in inches or millimeters.

It was in mm, everything is in "mm", we don't use and we never used "in".

Hi! The behavior does not sound right to me. But, I need a way to reproduce it. Please try publishing a non-proprietary part and see if it behaves the same. I would like to see an example. What release of Inventor are you on? Please make sure all applicable Inventor updates are installed.

In fact I don't even have an example to show because I didn't make one, if it's wrong ...

This is what it is happen

If I change the thread from ISO "Metric profile" to one of our "Standard"

The Diameter it is change from "mm" to "in"

How did you define the thread designation? The method you used there might hold a clue to what is going wrong.

Hi! I suspect the family template associated with the CC family might be wrong (inch based). Try this. Open a CC part from the family and go to Tools -> Doc Settings -> Unit. Is it set to "inch" or "mm"? If it is inch, change it to mm. Make sure all other settings are correct. Then go to CC Editor -> find the family -> replace family template -> pick the part you just save. Does it work better now?

Can you share the Thread.xls data file from your system? It is normally found at: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 201x\Design Data\XLS\<language folder>\. You couls also find it through a search in Windows Explorer if that does not work.

In the Thread.xls file that you sent, I noticed that the "Size" column is populated with the value from "Thread Designation". In all of the other tables, Size is an Integer, Thread Designation is a String. I suspect that putting the correct Integer value in this column may fix the problem.
