I am wondering how it got into such a bad state. If you have easy steps to reproduce, please post it.

As a workaround, I would suggest that you copy Sheet1 and paste it into a brand new dwg/idw file and save it.

Thanks

Every time that I add centerlines to a drawing view and try to save it, Inventor hangs up. I'm using Inventor 2022. The centerlines are in the top view of this drawing. ( the M6 holes).

The drawing seems to have some kind of corruption. If I simply open it and immediately click on Save, I find the same thing-- endlessly spinning cursor (not responding), eventually have to kill Inventor.

However, I was able to Save Copy As .idw format, and edit and save as needed. But I got a message from Inventor in the Save Copy As operation that something in the .dwg was not able to be saved in the .idw format, but it's nothing visible. And I was then able to Save Copy As back to .dwg format, and all is well there.

I don't know what kind of content there could be in the .dwg that is not transferable, but the easy solution seems to be to convert from .dwg to .idw and back.

Hi Sean,

Please make sure the following options are turned off.

1) Control Panel -> Clock and Region -> Region -> Administrative -> Change System Locale -> uncheck "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support."

2) Look for "Text Cursor" in your Win10 setting. You may have it if you have newer Win10 build. Disable the function.

These two are known to cause Inventor to crash.

Many thanks!
