I'm thinking this won't be possible with a manual approach. As it is the date format gets pulled from your system date. It would be nice if inventor had it's own native version but alas it doesn't. It will always be a manual modification on the user's end when working with data from different countries of origin.

If you change from using manual rev block to one controlled through ilogic you could convert the date or compare the date to thst of the drawing template and keep it consistent. If you need this more robust you would need an addin to do this work.

I use an ilogic rule to input a European date when using an American windows system. It ensures the current date is inputed, along with the user, description and an approved initial. It effectively recreates the manual rev box but also allows for common phrases on the comment section like approved for construction or modified as per comments.

My company is mainly a U.S. Based, but we have offices in Italy and Brazil; I was assigned with looking into the title block dates because there were discrepancies with the format. when Engineers in Italy checked files out from vault and made edits or changes; their Inventor, pulling their system dates would override ours. Going forward I really can only see two options to standardize the drawings first, have Italy change their system dates to the format we want to use or, some kind of formula inserted into the title blocks themselves to change the format of the date. Would I be correct in my line of thinking or am I missing something?

We already experimented with having one of the Engineers change their system date, even though it worked they almost immediately changed it back because of issues with other applications or software. It is looking like we would have to move forward with the formula options, would anyone have any experience with this?

Hi! The date format is from the Windows Region setting. If you override the default format, it will become a text object, not subject to any formatting. I am sorry I am not seeing a bug to fix here.

Many thanks!

Hi, thanks for your reply!
I understand that customizing the Windows Region settings affects how date formats are interpreted, and that changing the format can turn the property into a text object. However, in my case, I need to use different date formats depending on the client, and unfortunately, Inventor doesn’t currently support this flexibility natively.

Even when I set the custom property in the IDW file as Text, it still appears as a Date in the form, which suggests a possible bug or inconsistency in how the property type is handled.

This limitation impacts workflows where regional formatting matters, so I believe this is a valuable opportunity for improvement in future updates of Inventor.

Thanks again!
